Hey Highland Park parents, I came across this article recently and felt like it had a lot of good information about how our anxiety related to the Coronavirus in addition to the changes in our routines and schedules. And I feel like it is important for us to be aware of these things and know what we need to get back where we need to be as our sleep is important and for our kids it is critical that they get enough good sleep to keep their immune systems up as well as to help them perform at their best.

Today was the annual “Great Utah Shake Out” but as we are not in school today we did not participate in any earthquake drills, however as we were reminded this morning with another earthquake it is important that we all know what to do in the case of an earthquake. So please take a moment to review the information on the Great Utah Shake Out’s website and talk with your kids about what they need to do to keep safe in the case of an earthquake.

Highland Park Parents, You Are Enough! #OneHP We are in this together.

Highland Park Parents,

I appreciate all of the great things you are all doing each day in assisting your students in this transition to online learning. And as I am speaking with parents, students and teachers, I recognize that we are all doing our best to make the best of this situation, yet sometimes it feels like our best is not enough. While we may not accomplish everything on our todo lists, and we may not say or do the right thing to please everyone in every situation, and at the end of day, the house may not be in the condition we had hoped it would be in. But that is okay, all that any of us can do is our best and while your best may not be on par with yesterday’s best that’s okay, you are enough just as you are and tomorrow is another day. So we need to learn to accept that we are enough and cherish the good and the bad throughout each day, learn from our mistakes. So please give yourselves a social distancing appropriate pat on the back and do something for yourselves to help you recharge.
